"One of the greatest gifts you can give anybody is the gift of your honest self."

I was surprised to learn that Fred Rogers held a bachelor's degree in music composition. That explains the emphasis on music in his show. This B-side to Garden of Your Mind addresses that love of music, but it's also a powerful tribute to everything Fred Rogers stood for.

And finally, Fred Rogers received a Daytime Emmy Award for Lifetime Achievement in 1997. Listen to what Mr. Rogers has to say to a room full of people who are so full of themselves.

Being from Pittsburgh, this guy is a legend where I come from. He has his own section in the Children's museum here in town. R.I.P.

When I was growing up (I was born in 1966) we had LPs of Mr. Rogers we would listen to, over and over again.

I would watch him on TV before I went to school when i was a kid (born in '83). It's crazy how many generations he stayed relevant.

He was on TV for 30 years. I'd like to show it to my boys, but I fear it's too late. Their brains are already wired for the sort of video entertainment that Mr. Rogers was fighting against. They'd just say it's boring. But it's worth a try.
